Born in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy, he became a master cabinetmaker and immigrated to New York City. Although he made his living crafting furniture, he created a generous number of cooking tools for his wife and daughters, as they were unable to find the tools they were accustomed to back in Italy. Each hand-crafted item in the Buccino line as a specific cultural purpose. The line includes a rotary cutter, a ravioli stamp, a cheese grater and a rolling pin (not pictured). Each tool is accompanied by a small catalog outlined the history of Buccino and a description of each product in the line.
